Welcome to the online presence of Virginia Priory No. 8. It is our stated goal to serve as a think tank for those who have served in the chair and those now serving in the chair of the Lodge, Chapter, Council, and Commandery—the very hallmark of what we represent. Each of us entered through the only door to this Order: the door marked Service. Let us therefore continue to serve as a beacon of light for all of Masonry, for at its heart, Masonry is service—service to one another, to our communities, and to the ideals that bind us together as Brothers.
Virginia Priory No. 8 remains steadfast in fulfilling its constitutional obligations: assembling on lawful occasions, conferring the rank of Knight of the York Cross of Honour, and engaging in charitable works for the advancement and honor of the Order. In recent years, the Priory has broadened its impact through community-focused initiatives, partnering with organizations that provide meaningful support to communities across the Commonwealth of Virginia. These efforts reflect our enduring commitment to relief and benevolence—a natural extension of the Masonic obligation to care for the widow, the orphan, and the distressed.
As Knights of the York Cross of Honour, we are proven servants of the Masonic Fraternity—leaders of leaders, chosen not by aspiration but by invitation, recognized for years of faithful labor across every chair of the York Rite. Our inspiration is drawn from the past, our duty rests in the present, and our hope lives in the future. Let us never forget that in all we do, in all we say, and in all of our actions, each of us is someone’s impression of Freemasonry. The Crown we wear is not one of privilege; it is a symbol of victory earned through dedicated service to God and to our fellow man. I call upon every Knight of this Priory to carry that sacred charge forward—to mentor those now rising through the chairs, to strengthen the bonds of fellowship within our ranks, and to ensure that the light we have received is faithfully passed on to the next generation of Masonic leaders across the Commonwealth. In the Garden of Kings, let us labor together so that our works may speak long after our gavels have fallen silent.
